How we are staying Covid free

With warm tropical breezes, plenty of sunshine and endless turquoise waters, Bawah Reserve is
a welcoming paradise where you can relax and enjoy yourself.  We are grateful to report that our Reserve and the immediate islands surrounding us in the Anambas Islands Regency have no reported Covid-19 cases.

We are focused on the health and safety of our guests and our Bawah Family and have taken
numerous steps to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Our secluded location with six
private islands, alfresco dining, an abundance of natural space and limited accommodation
make Bawah Reserve naturally suited for travel during this time.

Cancellation and Re-booking

Maintaining a healthy environment at Bawah is important for everyone. We have relaxed our
cancellation and re-booking policies for ease of travel. If guests are feeling unwell, our flexible
reservation policy makes rebooking easy. Our guests’ well-being is of utmost importance.

Arriving Safely

  • All of the transport services we provide are cleaned and disinfected after each journey.

  • Drivers, pilots and hosts will wear masks for your protection.

  • Our travel host will provide masks and hand sanitiser for guests’ convenience.

  • Health and temperature screenings are carried out at both the ferry terminal and the airport.

  • Once in Batam, guests board our private seaplane. We will limit the number of non-related

passengers on each flight to ensure physical distancing protocols are met.

  • Our plane travels at a maximum of 7,000 feet (around two kilometres) so fresh outside air is circulated throughout the flight.

Check In

Bawah-reserve-medium-res-2025-1 Jetty Seaplane

Bawah Reserve was built for a secluded, private holiday. Guests step off the plane and onto the
jetty and are met with the fresh breeze and warm Indonesian hospitality. With individual needs
arranged ahead of time, guests are taken directly to their rooms for a private welcome and
resort orientation by a member of our Guest Relations team.
For those who prefer less contact while on holiday, guests can connect with our Guest Relations team via the mobile phone in their room.

Everything from snorkeling equipment to explore the reef, breakfast to start the day, or a book from the library to enjoy on the verandah can be delivered with limited interaction.

Our Rooms

Our Bawah Family is following cleaning protocols to keep our islands safe for everyone. In line
with the Singapore Clean hotel certification check list, our rooms are cleaned twice daily and
high-touch surfaces around the reserve are cleaned throughout the day. Rooms are left vacant
for two days prior to new guests checking in whenever possible.

Our Island

Our resort is naturally dispersed, with plenty of secluded beaches, lush jungle and quiet areas
for guests to enjoy on their own. Our activities team is on hand to guide guests on hiking paths,
kayaking adventures, scuba diving explorations or to teach new skills like batik painting. These
activities can be enjoyed together with a guide or guests are welcome to discover the island on
their own. There is plenty to do, and we want our guests to feel peaceful and comfortable
during their stay whatever level of interaction they desire.

Dining

We have four alfresco food and beverage outlets for guests to enjoy.
Our two main restaurants, Tree Tops and Boat House, have ample space for guests to dine at a
safe social distance. Guests can also enjoy snacks and light bites while easily maintaining social
distance at either The Grouper Bar, all day, or Jules Verne Bar in the evening.
Fine dining experiences are available any time of the day in the privacy of suites, while a
memorable castaway picnic on a secluded beach or dinner under the stars on your own private
island can also be arranged.

Our Team

All of our Bawah Family have been through an on-island quarantine prior to guests’ arrival and
have their temperature taken twice daily. They have also been through comprehensive safety
and health training. Our Bawah Family will wear masks while they work, and our on-island
doctor is available in case anyone feels unwell during their stay.

At Bawah Reserve we have taken steps to ensure that our island paradise remains Covid-free so
that our guests can enjoy the natural beauty and peaceful surroundings that make Bawah so
exceptional.
