We’ve trawled the shops to bring you our favourite eco-friendly and stylish carry-on luggage options.
One of the most exciting parts of a trip to Bawah Reserve is the thrilling seaplane arrival. But like all small aircraft, there are limits on how much our seaplanes can carry. Travellers to Bawah can bring 15 kilograms of luggage per person. But don’t panic; island life requires little more than a sarong and swimsuit. And the limit actually makes packing a cinch, especially if you choose your luggage carefully.
Here's our top five:
Lightweight, eco-friendly and available in an array of fab colours, the Eco-Nu collection
boasts construction made from Recyclex™ polyester fabric. Created using 100% recycled
PET bottles, Recyclex fabric is durable, flexible and environmentally responsible – all things
we love at Bawah. It’s great for overnight business trips or weekend travel and small enough
to fit under the seat or in the overhead compartment of most planes.
Weight: 5.29 pounds
Size: 18 x 14 x 8 inches
Price: US$240

The smallest in the Black Hole® duffel collection from Patagonia, this lightweight bag is
eco-friendly, has durable wheels and is small enough to be carried onto airplanes. Made with
100% recycled body fabric, lining and webbing, this bag is outfitted with multiple pockets for
smart packing, making it an all-around winner.

If you’re a tight packer and love the idea of hands-free travel, then look no further than this
convenient bag by Stella McCartney. It’s made of faux leather and accented with animal
prints, which is what gives it Stella’s signature touch. The sleek bag is where function meets
form, and it has plenty of room and zipper pockets for all your essentials. Made with recycled
materials, the backpack can be used daily or saved for longer remote holidays to tropical
islands like ours.

and the environment. Lightweight and water-repellent, the bag has a zip-around base
compartment for shoes and worn clothes.
