Johann David Wyss. There are pirates, tree-houses and close encounters with wild
animals in this tale of a shipwrecked family who must decide whether rescuing is

Treasure Island is the first live-action movie by Disney ever made. The
1950 adventure film is adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson's 1883 novel and
features drunken pirates, mutineers and a hunt for buried treasure.

Moana is an animated Disney blockbuster about a strong-willed Polynesian girl who
must show leadership and bravery to save the population of her island village. With
songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the movie has an award-winning soundtrack
and won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

South Pacific is a 1958 film based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South
Pacific. It was the duo’s highest-grossing musical until The Sound of Music was
released seven years later. The soundtrack hit No. 1 in both the US and the UK and
includes songs such as “Some Enchanted Evening” and “I’m Gonna Wash That Man
Right Outta My Hair.”

A Perfect Getaway is a 2009 thriller starring Timothy Olyphant, Milla
Jovovich, Kiele Sanchez and Steve Zahn. Shot in Hawaii and Puerto Rico, the movie
follows the holiday of two couples who find their dream destination diminished when
travellers in their midst meet an untimely demise.

Survivor was the first American hit reality game show where the contestant who managed to compete, strategise and avoid eliminations was crowned the winner. From The Bachelor to Top Chef, contemporary reality tv owes much to this series, which leaves strangers, often on an island, to fend for themselves for food, shelter and companionship in hopes of taking home the $1 million prize. The show is now in its 40th season.
