Singapore has certainly upped its hotel game in recent years, so while you’ll need to spend at least one night here before your 7 am pick up to Bawah Reserve, it’s worth tagging on a few extra days before or after your trip to check out all the cool hotels, exciting sights and sounds of this little red dot if you can.
Whether you choose just to use Singapore as a stopover or are spending a few days in town, here is our shortlist of the best hotels in Singapore to suit every traveller.
Raffles Singapore: Legendary Landmark
Raffles is finally open after an extensive restoration, breathing new life into the iconic hotel. They have managed to retain what was so special about Raffles – the ambiance, the service, the charm, and the heritage of the hotel. Experience legendary service with enhanced comfort and splendour for the discerning traveller, and enjoy beautiful architecture for that unique feeling of being somewhere very special in the heart of the business and civic district. And don't forget that visiting the infamous Long Bar for a Singapore Sling is essential!
Capella Singapore: Luxe Island Hideaway
Capella Singapore is on Sentosa Island – a small residential island linked to Singapore by a bridge. The superbly grand Capella is set back from the beach on acres of lawn carefully landscaped to give the impression of being in the jungle. Relax at the hotel’s outdoor pool where peacocks roam (there are three levels of pools - one for adults only, and the other two for children, thus making the property equally suitable for honeymooners and families alike).
Play a game of tennis, or read a magazine in the library while you savour complimentary tea and snacks, followed by a massage at the renowned Auriga spa. Service is commendable and breakfast is in a category of its own with a delicious curated spread of treats. If you are in Singapore for more than a day, Capella offers the perfect buffer between the paradise of Bawah and going “back home”. As for Sentosa, there are beaches with casual cafes and free water play parks for the kids, a golf course, S.E.A Aquarium, bungy jumping and indoor sky diving, as well as Universal Studios Singapore to keep you busy. Further afield explore the rest of Singapore which is only a twenty-minute drive away.

The Warehouse Hotel: Smoky Sexy
A relatively newcomer to the Singapore hotel scene - but definitely one to check out. The Warehouse Hotel was built in 1895 along the Singapore River as part of the Straits of Malacca trade route. At that time, the area was a hotbed of secret societies, underground activity, and liquor distilleries. Today, while much of that history has disappeared, The Warehouse Hotel has been meticulously restored as a modern 37-room boutique hotel, focusing on heritage and local culture. Open as of January 2017, it delivers thoughtful hospitality with historically-detailed rooms, classic local dishes, and craft cocktails in the vibrant neighbourhood of Robertson Quay.
