You know it's Christmas when...

Written by Bawah Reserve | Dec 10, 2021 9:50:37 AM

What marks the start of the festive season for you? Maybe it’s when you hear Mariah, Boney M or Bandaid on the radio. Or – if you’re in the UK – it may be when you spot the Coca Cola “holidays are coming” Christmas truck publicity on TV, first launched way back in 1995.

Or maybe the first screening of the department store John Lewis’s Christmas advertisement, which has become something of a tradition.

Many of us have a special connection to something that sparks the Christmas spirit. Well, here at Bawah Reserve HQ it’s all about the Christmas card. Our creative director never fails to amaze us with her brilliant and unique Bawah Christmas card designs, and each year we look forward to the grand reveal.

So, we thought we’d take a moment to share with you our past four years of truly spectacular
Christmas cards.

2023

Logo Tree

2023 shows the Bawah logo forming the shape of a Christmas tree. Keeping it simple.

2022

Seas and Greetings

2022 shows the Bawah logo, the tree of life, exploding with starfish, turtles, sandollars, coral and fish - all common sights in the 3 lagoons surrounding Bawah.

2021
The snow globe

A beautiful tropical island-inspired take on the Christmas snow globe. It contains all the things
we most love about Bawah – sailing boats, the seaplane, the jetty and our overwater bungalows, plus birds, sea stars, turtles, corals and other flora and fauna.

2020
The animated starlit jetty

Bang in the middle of the pandemic, we went for a digital animation showing the starlit jetty under the moon, including a guest appearance by Santa.

2019
The Christmas tree of life

The Bawah logo represents the tree of life, topped with a bird and incorporating coral, fish and a
sea star. Here, our Christmas tree of life wove in more detail with beautiful illustrations of the
islands’ flora, fauna and leisure activities.

2018
The coral Christmas tree

A coral restoration process featured in the 2018 card, along with an important pledge to plant 50
coral tree nurseries. Amounting to 300 new staghorn corals, this promised hope for better, healthier, and richer marine life in the Anambas Archipelago.

Which one is your favourite?  We’d love to know! – drop us a note at georgina@bawahreserve.com

Donation Appeal

Every year, we emphasise our partnership with and support of the Anambas Foundation, whose
mission is to protect and rehabilitate the Anambas Archipelago ecosystem while improving the welfare of local communities.

The ongoing pandemic has brought with it increasing challenges, not only for the people of the Anambas region but also for their environment. Despite these trying times, the Foundation remains unwavering in its commitment to our marine conservation, waste management and community empowerment programmes.

During this season of giving, please support this important work by making a donation to the Foundation. When you do, be assured that 100% of your contribution goes directly towards
Anambas Foundation programmes.
