Translation:

Muerba is a local Anambas name for a species of edible snails (laevistombus Canarium). We often find many of the beautiful white conical shells from these snails on the beach here and hence the name.

Size:

One hectare

Terrain:

Flat forest with one main narrow beach stretching around the island. Whilst the west side of the island faces into the lagoon, the east side faces out to open sea.

Beaches:

Muerba has one beach that changes in size with the season.

Amenities:

Fancy a private dinner on your own private island, Muerba is where this can happen in a private bale hidden in the trees or out on the beach. At low tide during certain times of the year, enjoy walking across the natural sandbar to Muerba from Bawah opposite the Boat House restaurant. Take a pit stop in the hammock halfway across.

4) Sanggah

aerial_sanggah_close_up_with_coral_reefs_lagoon_bawah_background (2)
Translation:

Bahasa for “prop”, the local people named the island Sanggah because of its strong monolithic presence, protecting Bawah from Southerly winds. Without Sanggah we may not have the placid lagoons that exist now.

Size:

28 Hectares.

Terrain:

Very steep rock terrain with a peak at 120 meters

Beaches:

Four private beaches –the largest of which is Turtle Beach. Depending on the time of year you visit, you may even spot some nesting turtles.

Enjoy a private picnic or a Spa Explorer experience in our bale on Turtle Point and walk through to Turtle Beach. Sanggah also features a more challenging hiking trail if you are ready for a workout.

5) Lidi

aerial_close_up_lidi_and_elang_with_bawah_background
Translation:

The local Anambas name for a tiny snake called Liopeltis, tricolor is Ular Lidi. Non-venomous and full adult size is only 56cm. As our small, skinny little island, the name seemed appropriate.

One Hectare

Terrain:

Rocky terrain in the middle and mangroves along the edges. The island is long and thin.

Amenities:

One beach and an amazing shallow sand lagoon often full of stingrays.
