Travelling to Bawah Reserve via Jakarta, Indonesia? It is well worth spending a few days experiencing the sights and sounds of this vibrant and diverse city before you take your flight to Batam to meet our amphibious plane. As the capital and largest city in Indonesia there are a lot of options on where to stay. We have pulled together a shortlist of our favourite hotels in Jakarta to suit every traveller.
Located in the heart of Jakarta's most prestigious district, Menteng, the 1920's art deco building is a haven from the bustling city. With modern features in a historic environment and three beautiful dining venues to choose from this is a classic option heeding back to Indonesia’s past.
Be sure to enjoy a cocktail at sunset in the rooftop bar La Vue.
Hermitage Jakarta
Jl. Cilacap No.1,
Menteng,
Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta
10310, Indonesia
Indonesian owned five-star hotel the Dharmawangsa is a favourite for couples. Space, serenity and tranquility are often mentioned in reviews. Inspired by Indonesian art, tradition and culture and with just 100 rooms this option is a stark contrast to some of the more famous hotels found in Jakarta and for that reason makes for a more authentic and romantic stay.
Make sure spend some relaxing time around the elegant outdoor pool nestled amongst trees.
The Dharmawangsa
Jl. Brawijaya Raya No. 26, Kebayoran Baru,
Jakarta 12160 Indonesia.
A good selection of larger suites and plenty of additional amenities for children make the Four Seasons Jakarta a great option for families. Amenities include child size robes, children’s toiletries, books, playing cards, colouring books as well as babysitting options.
Cool off after a day of sightseeing in the great outdoor pool.
Four Seasons Jakarta
Capital Place, Jalan Jend,
Gatot Subroto Kav. 18,
Jakarta,
12710
If sustainability is on your mind then a good option in Jakarta is the Grand Hyatt. With 45 photovoltaic panels on the roof, this hotel is the first in Indonesia to use solar panels powering 20 guest rooms daily and reducing their carbon footprint by over 400 tones of CO2 over 30 years. Other sustainable operations include efficient LED light bulbs and motion sensor lights, eco-friendly cutlery and their teabags used are all biodegradable.
The hotel is connected to a mall and just a five minute walk from the MRT so
conveniently located.
Grand Hyatt,
Jl. M.H. Thamrin No.Kav. 28-30,
Gondangdia,
Menteng,
Jakarta Pusat
Whilst in a more modern building than you would usually expect of Raffles, the
ambience, the service, the charm and the heritage of the hotel brand shine through.
Enjoy that unique feeling of being somewhere very special in the heart of the business
and civic district and experience Raffles legendary service.
Be sure to check out the Writers Bar for bespoke cocktails and intimate conversations!
Jalan Prof,
Dr. Satrio Kav. 3-5,
Jakarta,
12940
Jakarta is well known for traffic congestion so if you are only using Jakarta as a quick
stop-over then we highly recommend choosing this hotel for its proximity to the
airport. Bandara International hotel is a tropical resort style property conveniently located
within the airport precinct.
