But what exactly is it? And, most importantly how can we achieve it? The Oxford English Dictionary defines well-being as “the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy”. So what if we are in full health, but not happy? Or vice versa?   [Psychology Today explains wellbeing in a more holistic way](https://www.psychologytoday.com/sg/blog/click-here-happiness/201901/what-is-well-being-definition-types-and-well-being-skills) as: “the experience of health, happiness, and prosperity. It includes having good mental health, high life satisfaction, and a sense of meaning or purpose”.    The wellbeing team at Bawah Reserve encourage guests to focus on the Six Pillars of wellbeing which are: physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social and environmental. They are all interrelated and influence each other, for true well-being is the delicate balance of all pillars. If one dimension is lacking, then your mind, happiness, stress levels and relationships can be askew. That’s why Bawah believes that well-being is best accomplished by looking inside ourselves as well as our environment, be it the nature or people that surround us. Balancing your wellbeing is simple; there are skills you can learn through experience and guidance. Wellbeing is a product of your thoughts, actions and experiences, most of which you have control over. ![Bawah-reserve-medium-res-2658](https://blog.bawahreserve.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Bawah-reserve-medium-res-2658.jpg?width=8256&name=Bawah-reserve-medium-res-2658.jpg)   If only we could put a pause button on life to rebalance ourselves. For many people, the first step to attaining well-being and happiness is to actively plan a holiday in a place where you can settle your mind, challenge your body and replenish your spirit – a place that allows you the chance to reconnect – to you, to Mother Nature and to what matters most in your life. With this in mind, Lisa created three distinct “Journeys to Wellbeing” – Calm, Vitality and Connect. Each incorporates the Six Pillars and features daily activities designed to progress your goals using Bawah Reserve’s natural healing elements of air, sun, water, rest, diet and sleep. The Journeys are flexible; dip your toes or fully immerse in a scheduled retreat-style stay. ![Bawah-HD-0034](https://blog.bawahreserve.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Bawah-HD-0034.jpg?width=3600&name=Bawah-HD-0034.jpg)   Every single human is different, and there is no magic formula to achieving total wellbeing. The real key is understanding what works for you and how little changes can create the balance you need.
